Christmas 2014

We had a wonderful Christmas!  It was so nice to have my grandparents with us for Christmas dinner.  My mom's dad is in very poor health and we didn't know if he would be able to make it, but he was able to.  Also, my cousin from TX surprised us with a visit and my other two cousins were here as well my aunt and uncle and of course, my mom.  We started the day with stockings, then ate breakfast and had our last advent devotional which was the Luke 2 reading, and then we opened presents.  There were 16 total at our place by early afternoon. Late in the afternoon, Mom and I went to the cemetery.  It's always so hard for me to go there because it brings back the memories of the week Dad died and makes me miss him even more.  But in some ways, it makes me feel closer to him.

We missed our family who we didn't see this Christmas.  It's just not the same without them here!

Backtracking, on Christmas Eve, the kids decorated a building from a gingerbread village.  They all got different buildings to decorate.  Big Boy just wanted to eat the icing and candies, so his house collapsed right away. :-)  They all seemed to have fun with it.  Then my mom came over for dinner and afterwards, the kids opened their presents to each other and 1 present from us (new pjs).

Today we got together with some dear friends!  What a blessing it is to spend time with family and friends!

The kids sang this for their great-grandparents Christmas day.

Elsa was freezing Captain America and Spiderman this morning.  Those Superheroes have nothing on her!

he really likes Spiderman

And here are a couple of pics from the church Christmas program 12/14.  We only took videos, but someone from church posted these on Facebook. :-)

  1. Jessica, how nice you were able to have everyone there for Christmas. It is lovely to see pictures of those we haven't seen for a while. You beat us by 2, for dinner.
The kids did great on their song for their great- grandparents. It looks like you all had a wonderful Christmas together. I love all the pictures taken.
You make a beautiful Mary, and your son seems to have done well portraying Jesus as a young boy.
Nice to see a picture of your friends. It has been a long time since we have seen them. Thank you for sharing all the great pictures.

    Love to all, Mom

  2. It was a wonderful Christmas time with the family even though we were missing "Dad" and "Grandma". God gave grace and we so appreciate all you and Hubby did to make the time special with having the family at your place! Everyone had such a great time. Thanks for sharing all the pictures. It was great hearing the kids sing their song again.

    Love you all
