Christmas, Snow & More

How easy it is to get behind with posting!  I think the problem is that I take too many photos.  Then I have to go back through and figure out which ones are blog worthy (which on this post is just over 100).  That takes time.  But it won't stop me from taking too many photos. :-)

Hubby and I were talking about Christmas traditions and what our children will likely remember our traditions to be.  So I thought I would list them on my blog.

1. Decorating the tree (usually the weekend of Thanksgiving) while listening to Charlie Pride
2. Going to a Bethlehem re-creation (we've done this the past 3 years now)
3. Advent Devotions with the Advent Wreath (lighting a new candle each week leading up to Christmas)
4. Praying at the end of our Advent devotions for people from whom we receive Christmas cards
5. Decorating Gingerbread houses
6. Reading the Christmas account from Luke 2 on Christmas morning before opening stockings
7. Eating cinnamon rolls for breakfast Christmas morning between opening stockings and presents
8. Having the kids write notes to themselves about their year to put in their stockings to read the following year.

This Christmas, we had my mom, aunt, uncle, and two cousins over for dinner on Christmas day.

Just before Christmas and just before New Year's, we went walking.  One day it was super windy (as you will see from our hair in the photos), but otherwise, we had some beautiful weather.

The day after New Year's Day, Hubby had off work, so we took the kids bowling for the first time.  They seemed to really enjoy that!

Last weekend we had 5.5 inches of snow and it got super cold.  The snow stuck around for 3 days.  They built two snowmen and spent lots of time sledding on our back hill.

We are halfway through our school year now with just over 90 days under our belts.

Last week we went to the children's museum.  Our annual pass runs out the end of this month, so I see at least one more visit in the very near future.
