God's Timing

So a lot has happened since I posted last.  We went to Canada for a birthday celebration for Hubby's Grandma's 90th birthday.  She was in the hospital at the time and not able to attend the birthday party.  We got there on Friday and she passed away on Sunday. I'm thankful for God's perfect timing and how we were able to see her just before she died and be up there for the funeral.  We are thankful that she is no longer in any pain and that she has been promoted to heaven.  We look forward to seeing her again someday.

We got home a week ago today, just in time for the dedication of our new church building on Sunday.  It was a nice service and we praise God for what He is doing for our church family.  Our brakes started grinding horribly  on Sunday.  We took the van to the shop on Monday and had to get a front and rear brake job.  Again, I'm so thankful for God's perfect timing and how he allowed us to travel about 2000 miles with absolutely no vehicle problems, then have the problems start the day after we got home from our trip.

L'il Girl got a pretty nasty burn on her forearm while we were away.  The first morning we were there, she fell against a fireplace and for a split second touched her arm against the glass door covering the fireplace.  She handled it so well, once we got past the first couple hours of applying ice to it.  It is healing well and now it is just a light pink color.  We are so thankful to God that it was not any worse.

Baby Girl took her first steps on Thursday of this week.  She has been free-standing, but hadn't been brave enough to take more than one step until Thursday.  Then she took about five or six steps.  Speaking of steps, she's at the bottom of the steps right now, looking up and wondering if she should obey Mama and not try to go up.  So far she's being an obedient little girl. :-)

Here are a few pictures from the last couple weeks.

  1. Yes Jessica... Gods' timing is perfect!! To be at the party and to see Mom while she knew everyone was such a blessing. I too am thankful for His timing in taking Mom home while you were ALL up to attend her funeral. What a blessing it was to see my three children get up and hear them talk about their Grandma with so much love. God knew her grandchildren needed to be there for the funeral. My heart overflows with gratitude and love for my Heavenly Father who doeth all things well.
We are so thankful you got home safely before the brakes went.
I am so glad to hear L'il girls arm is healing nicely, and pray no scaring will occur.
So she had to wait to get home before taking several steps huh!! I was hoping she might have done so here. Oh well!! She will really be on the go now. What a fun time we had at the fire station. I love all the sweet pictures of the girls. Thanks for sharing. And I'm glad my son had a nice birthday. ( love you sweetheart)
