18 month check up

I took our boy for his 18 month check-up last week and he is doing well.

Length: 34 inches (90.55 percentile)
Weight 24.8 lbs (56.49 percentile)

Here's what he's up to these days.

He babbles so much now and says a few words that we can make out.

"Dada"
"Mama"
"Papa" - (he says for Papa, Grandpa, and Grandma)
"Nana"
"Done" (he says this when he's finished eating or his cup is empty and usually he wants more)
"Juice"
"Thank you"

He is extremely mobile.  He runs, tries to jump, and is a good climber.  He climbed out of the playyard for the first time last week.  He can now get up on the counter stools and further get on to the counter.  He climbs up on the dining room table.

He is in to everything.  Forget the toys!  Just give him something that's not a toy that he's probably not supposed to have and he's happy.  He gets silverware from the kitchen drawer all the time, mainly spoons.  He pulls out my mixing bowls and kitchen towels.  Basically any cabinet that it not "locked" or "childproof" he will get into.

He likes to wear my high heeled shoes or pretty much any shoes that are too big for him and he likes to put things on his head like bowls and baskets.

He loves his sisters and knows who they are when you say their names, but he quickly tires of the "excessive" love he receives from L'il Girl.  She wants to pick him up and hug him all the time and he usually just pushes her away. 

He gives great wide open mouth, slobbery kisses that leave you feeling like a dog just licked your face. :-)  He gives great hugs and is a very cuddly boy!

He is looking more and more like a little boy every day and less and less like a baby.

I'm thankful he's having a brother so they can dress up in boy stuff together. :-)
